LEGACY LIGHTING CONTROL SUPPORT

Understand your system. Plan its future.

Specialist support for ALC Spectrum, iLight and legacy Philips ECS systems, including LM100, across Scotland.

Northern Light Controls provides site surveys, fault-finding, maintenance and upgrade advice for existing installations. We help establish what can remain in service, what needs attention and how the system can support the building’s future requirements.

Experience with the systems already in your building.

Our team’s working relationship was built through years of selling and commissioning lighting control systems across Scotland. That experience includes extensive work with ALC Spectrum and iLight, alongside in-depth knowledge of Philips ECS and LM100 installations.

Today, we bring that understanding to surveys, technical support and upgrade planning—considering both the installed equipment and how the building needs to operate.

ALC Spectrum

Extensive experience with commercial installations using lighting control modules, sensors and CAN bus networks. We assess existing arrangements, investigate faults and advise on maintenance and suitable upgrade options.

iLight

Support for existing installations following the range’s end of sales, including system assessment, fault-finding and planning a suitable transition where required.

Philips ECS and LM100

Experienced support for legacy installations, helping building teams understand their existing controls and make informed decisions about maintenance, alterations and replacement.

We also support legacy Philips Wiremaster and 8000 systems, alongside Eaton and Cooper Lighting control installations, subject to assessment.

iLight end of sales: what it means.

Signify ended sales of the iLight portfolio on 1 September 2025, with certain replacement, warranty and support provisions continuing under its published terms.

End of sales does not, by itself, establish that an installation needs immediate replacement. We can assess its condition and requirements, then advise on an appropriate maintenance or upgrade approach.

An upgrade may not mean starting again.

In many iLight and ALC Spectrum installations, existing bus cabling can potentially be retained as part of a suitable upgrade.

Our engineers assess its condition, layout and compatibility with the proposed system before recommending reuse. We also review the connected equipment and operational requirements to establish the appropriate scope of work.

Retaining suitable infrastructure can help reduce the extent of installation work. The approach is determined by the survey, rather than assumed in advance.

A practical route forward.

Assess the installation

Establish the equipment, network arrangement, condition and current operation, alongside any faults or proposed changes.

Explain the options

Identify what can be maintained or retained and where targeted changes or a wider upgrade may be appropriate.

Plan the work

Agree the scope, commissioning requirements and any opportunities to phase the work around the building’s operation.

Tell us what’s installed.

Share your site location, system name if known, and a description of the issue or planned changes. Equipment photographs and existing drawings can help us establish the next step.

Support and upgrade options depend on the installed equipment, survey findings and the availability of compatible parts and software.
